  The Giant Bird At present, aircraft has become one of the most popular vehicles and weapons. There are many kinds of aircraft in the world, such as unpowered aircraft, jet aircraft, propeller aircraft, unmanned aircraft, solar-powered aircraft, ramjet aircraft and so on. (1)A fixed-wing aircraft is made up with fuselage, wing, vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer, engines and landing gear. (2) The legend of flight dates back to the days of pre-history, and many stories can prove it.(3) Our ancestors are so intelligent that making the dream of flight came true, which is according to the shape of birds. The Wright brothers are very famous among the inventors, and they made their first flight trial on December 17, 1903. (4) This successful flight is admitted by the FAI (Federation Aeronautique Internationale), and its status is irreplaceable. (5) By 1905, their flight was able to fully controllable and stable. (6) The First World War offered a platform for the use of aircraft as a weapon, and aircraft technology continued to develop following the war. (7)In the 1940s, military jet aircraft went into action. There are many free services on the plane like meals, drinks, blankets and so on. Flight crew are very mannerly and responsible, you can enjoy your trip under the services. A commercial aircraft has first class, business class and economy class. (11) You can choose one kind on the basis of the individual condition With the development of aviation, air travel in recent years becomes more and more popular, and it facilitates the tourism. People can move from place to place by plane, the communication among the different parts of the world has become very close. The earth is getting smaller and more homogenous. This makes a contribution to the global economy. Also, we can use the rocket-powered aircraft for space exploration. (12) As a famous person said, a coin has two sides. In fact, aviation has some negative impacts to the environment and human health. Aircraft engines give off noise, greenhouse gas and particulates, which leads to the climate’s changing and global dimming. (13)Recently, the rapid growth of the air travel brings on a rise in airpollution. The IPCC figured that the aviation contributes to about 3.5% of climate change. (14)And we will have some untoward effects on the plane, such as nausea, tinnitus and vertigo. The noise they make will hurt people’s ears. Compare with other vehicles, aircraft is not the safest one, which is hardly influenced by the weather. And the fee of air travel is extremely expensive, not everyone can afford it. Now most of countries in the world have taken some effective actions to deal withhe air pollution. “As of January 2009, 183 parties have ratified the Kyoto Protocol, which is aimed to stabilization and reconstruction of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.”(15) In addition, some governments agreed to work through the ICAO to limit or reduce emissions from international aviation, and they went in for the adoption of an open emissions trading system. (16) So modern aircraft are noteworthy more fuel efficient, producers are hammering at reduce the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gas. They will use some high-efficiency and clean fuels to clear up the drawbacks. Thus, we can take advantage of this giant bird, which makes our life colorful.
